Beloved, welcome to this Post.
It is not by accident that you are on this page. The Almighty GOD bless us and establish us in JESUS Name Amen. We give GOD all the Glory for the opportunity of being alive, fine and well. Holy Spirit please help us.
Beloved, in a recent Meeting, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of GOD popularly called Daddy G. O. stated that ‘Life is a battle’ and he gave the analogy of the first sign that announces the birth of a baby, which is the baby’s cry and if the baby does not cry at birth he/she is stimulated to cry. Wow, that left me thinking, although medically, the cry of a baby at birth may be explained, but one wonders why babies don’t laugh immediately they are born but cry. This brought me to today’s topic which had been lingering on my mind for a while now which is ‘Enough is Enough – Possess Your Possessions’
Life is a stage. The Script Writer is the Creator, the Owner of life – The Almighty GOD. Everyone has a part to play to fulfill his/her purpose and destiny. Sadly, not everyone fulfills his/her purpose on Earth. Some struggle through life to no avail and do not break through the vicious cycle, but Beloved, we thank GOD that with HIM on our side no matter the storm, HIS purposes will never fail.
The Psalmist said in Psalm 66:12b ‘we went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance’.
Beloved, let us take a snapshot of the life of David before he became King. The first encounter with David was when GOD instructed Samuel, the Prophet, to anoint him as king in his father’s house as a replacement to King Saul; even though King Saul was still on the throne. So, the anointing was a family affair. The reason why David had to replace King Saul was because Saul was disobedient to GOD’s instructions. King Saul’s actions revealed that he loved to please men rather than GOD. David continued his normal life of tending to his father’s flock even though he had been anointed king.
King Saul, on the other hand, had an evil spirit tormenting him which made him depressed. His household was looking for a solution to the problem. Then one of his servants suggested that a good/skilled musician should be brought to play soothing music when the king was troubled. The king agreed.
Consequently, one of the servants recommended David and this was what he said about David:
*Talented harp Player
*Brave warrior, a man of war
*Has good judgement
*Fine looking young man
*The LORD is with him
(1st Samuel 16:14-23)
Beloved, let me chip in here that there is something in you that would bring you to the palace, that would bring you from obscurity to limelight, from your space to the international scene.
So, David was brought before King Saul and he remained in the Service of the King. King Saul loved David and was pleased with him.
Life continued. It was business as usual, until the battle between Israel and Philistia, in which the Philistines brought Goliath, the giant, as their representative to fight with the representative of Israel. Twice a day, for 40 days, morning and evening, Goliath would come out to the lines separating the Philistine and Israelite soldiers and challenge the Israelites to send out their champion, in order to decide the outcome of the battle in a single combat between him and their champion, but King Saul was afraid and so were the Israelites.
On one fateful day, Jesse, David’s father, had packaged meals to be delivered to his sons who were camped for the battle. David got there right on time when the Israelite forces were leaving for the battlefield. Soon the two forces were facing each other, and Goliath came out as usual to taunt the Israelites. David heard him and also saw how frightened the Israelites were. He asked the soldiers what the reward would be for killing Goliath to end the disrespect to Israel. David did not see a giant as the others, he saw a pagan defying the armies of the Living GOD. What insolence.
However, someone was out there to intimidate David and stop him from making further enquiries on the happenings at the battlefield – that person was his elder brother, Eliab. David was undaunted and focused on his mission, his mind was made up, there was a reward attached to killing this pagan and moreover, someone had to stop the insults; and that someone was him irrespective of Eliab’s criticism and discouragement. So, he continued to ask until King Saul heard and asked that he be brought before him.
Beloved, don’t be discouraged with negative comments or discouragement just be focused. When GOD is for you, your result will cancel every insult.
Remember David’s CV – brave warrior. David had kept his father’s sheep from lions and bears. He had killed those animals to rescue the father’s sheep. He knew that the GOD who delivered him from the paws of the lions and bears would deliver him from the uncivilized Philistine Goliath (1st Samuel 17). David represented Israel and faced Goliath.
Wow! By the Hand of GOD, David hurled a stone from his sling and hit Goliath in the centre of his forehead. Goliath fell on his face to the ground and David cut off Goliath’s head with Goliath’s own sword. Israel’s dignity was restored while the Philistines like frightened rats scampered away and were pursued by the Israelites.
No doubt there was celebration in the Camp of the Israelites.
Shortly after this resounding victory, there was a turnaround as the soldiers returned from the battlefield. The women from all the towns of Israel in joyous mood came out with their tambourines and cymbals to rejoice with King Saul.
This was their song:
Saul has killed his thousands and David his ten thousands.
This song made King Saul very angry and envious of David. From that moment, King Saul that previously loved David now hated him with a passion. David became his number 1 enemy. He wanted David dead. His thought was that very soon, the people would want him to be their king.
King Saul tried many times to kill him, deployed various tactics, made David a fugitive who left the comfort of his home to live in caves. He made life so unbearable for David that David went into the late Goliath’s town, Gath, to hide and he had to pretend to be mad (1st Samuel 21:12-13). So much troubles for David.
However, in all these, David clung to GOD. He was a worshipper and his faith in GOD never waned. It is pertinent to mention that David had two (2) opportunities to kill King Saul but he refused to touch the LORD’s anointed despite the fact that the King wanted him dead. GOD is awesomely Faithful. In spite of the opposition GOD was still in the business of increasing and enlarging David even in such circumstances and he was able to raise a mighty, formidable Army from men who were distressed and discouraged; outlaws who risked their lives for him.
At the end of the long unsolicited battle with David, King Saul, who was in another battle against the Philistines at Mount Gilboa, committed suicide to avoid being captured by the Philistines. Sadly, he lost three of his sons in that battle. Beloved, there is always an expiry date.
Shortly after King Saul’s death David was anointed King of Judah and reigned in Judah for seven years, after which he was anointed to reign over the entire Israel (Judah + Israel). So, he was anointed thrice. Beloved, humanly speaking, no one would have imagined that David would still emerge a king after all the troubles. Just imagine a ruling President pursuing a man with a battalion of soldiers. When GOD speaks it must surely come to pass no matter the storm or opposition. GOD honours HIS Word more than HIS Name. No matter the pursuit of the enemy we are overcomers in Christ JESUS. Let’s not be intimidated. Please let’s get up and get going.
We have destinies and destinations. It is not over until we win. Be determined, be persistent. You may be thinking it’s late now. I’m old. How can I fulfill purpose and destiny? Beloved, age is no barrier. The Word of the LORD tells us that we shall be fruitful in old age (Psalm 93:14). None shall be barren in the land (Exodus 23:26). Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the Morning (Psalm 30:5b). For sure as there is nighttime, there must be a breakthrough to morning. GOD has not brought us this far to abandon us.
The enemy will fight, the forces of darkness will roar but remember that we have the Lion of Judah. The LORD of hosts.
Who can command things to happen without the LORD’s permission? (Lamentation 3:37). No one.
The hatred and bitterness of King Saul brought devastation, destruction and woes to himself and his family. Remember, the LORD disappoints the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise (Job 5:12). When the LORD disappoints the evil of our enemies, no doubt we shall fulfill our destiny.
What do we need to do?
Some of the things are:
* Maintain a close relationship with our LORD JESUS Christ. Colossians 2:6.
* Make JESUS your Anchor.
* Study the Bible to know who you are in Christ.
* Meditate on the Word of GOD. Joshua 1:8.
* Trust GOD. Proverbs 3:5.
* Be consistent.
* Be steadfast.
* Flee from sin.
* Be prayerful. Luke 18:1.
* Be thankful; be a worshipper.
Beloved, we salute and thank you for coming this far.
If you do not have a relationship with our LORD and Saviour JESUS Christ, now is the time to do so. Please do not procrastinate as tomorrow may be too late.
* Acknowledge that you are a sinner. (We all went through this).
* Ask for forgiveness of your sins.
* Accept JESUS as your LORD and Saviour.
* Fellowship with your LORD JESUS Christ.
* Please attend a Bible believing Church – the LORD guide you in your choice and in your journey.
Surely, your life can never be the same.
We shall possess our possessions in JESUS Name. Amen.

More kudos madam and more grace. Such is needed at this time. Glory to God! I will want to say for one to walk by this message indeed and bear fruits there after, one must take time to change the instructions one is taking in. Prov 6:23. I tell you truth.if not, we will confess it enough is enough shout it and still be struggling in life. And before one can possess his or her possessions the person must turn to a spirit, a wind and a mountain. Read john3:6&8 , Zech. 4:7, 1Pet.4:7. It is only at this junction one’ s possessions can’t be stopped or denied by any power or force. May God give us grace to dig deeper in the word of God and reap the benefits thereof. God bles you.
