Beloved, welcome.

It’s been some time, but I trust GOD that all is well. If it’s your first time here, you are most welcome. It’s not a mistake that you are here.

The year 2020 is wrapping up. Can we please do a quick appraisal?

To do an appraisal, we have to look at the balance sheet of a company for a particular period. So now, we shall substitute that company for our life in year 2020.

A balance sheet is a snapshot at a single point in time of the company’s accounts — covering its assets, liabilities and shareholders’ equity. The purpose of a balance sheet is to give interested parties an idea of the company’s financial position, in addition to displaying what the company owns and owes. So, we look at the parties involved and also the shareholders’ equity (the owners’ investment or contribution and how we have fared with it).

In our company, the owner is the Almighty GOD and HE has invested so much in our life. He invested HIS most priceless possession, JESUS CHRIST, for our sake.

As it is written in John 3:16, “For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life.”

This investment alone is more than enough to keep our accounts going through the year. As scripture says, “MY grace is sufficient, for MY strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

He also invested talents, gifts, resources and opportunities in our lives that would make us more like JESUS. HE also gave us HIS word and HIS presence, through the HOLYSPIRIT, so that we can bear fruits of righteousness. These are the assets in our balance sheet.

On the other hand, we have our liabilities. These can be cares of this world, worries, anxiety, the deceitfulness of riches, etc. (Matt 13:18-22, 1 Timothy 6:9, Luke 21:34). These things rob us of sweet times of fellowship with GOD and can take us away from abiding in HIM.

So, as we do an appraisal of ourselves, we must evaluate our asset performance. We can do this by prayerfully asking the question, “How well did I utilize the wonderful resources GOD placed in my life?” We cannot answer this question on our own. We need the help of the HOLYSPIRIT to have the right answer to this question. This appraisal is necessary so that we don’t remain like the ungrateful servant who did not invest what his MASTER had deposited in him but wrapped it in a piece of cloth (Luke 13:12-27) or the one who hid it in the ground (Matt 25:14-30).

We must also look at our debt-to-equity ratio. GOD has paid such a high price for us and HE deserves our true worship (Romans 12:1, 1 Corinthians 6:20). As the HOLYSPIRIT gives us insight into how much GOD loves us and what an enormous price HE paid for us, I pray we will truly see how much HE deserves our worship despite what may or may not have happened in 2020.

And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy—the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? (Romans 12:1 TLB)

for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:20 NLT)

After our appraisal of the year, our balance sheet may look great, like the servant who got 100% profit. It may also look good, like the servant who got 50% profit. For some of us, the account may look like it’s a dead end. (Luke 13:12-27).

Regardless of what our current balance sheet says, beloved, it is not the final one. Thank GOD. There is still hope. No matter the situation, the fact that we are alive means GOD has not finished with us yet. The Great and Mighty GOD has it all planned out that HIS NAME ALONE shall be glorified. As scripture says, “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28). We know this for a fact, so, instead of feeling condemned, we can look to GOD.

Moving forward, we need to address the issues that came out from the appraisal (our balance sheet). We assess our strengths and weaknesses and identify the adjustments we need to make by GOD’s Grace. So, we bring the factors we have identified in our results before HIM and give HIM praise and all the glory because through it all, HE has remained faithful and true.

The good news is that whatever we have lost shall be restored to us. Everything that belongs to us, GOD will give to us. Yes. GOD is GOD. HE is the Restorer. HE is Sovereign.

Thank GOD that Daniel 11:32b says “but the people who know their GOD shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

GOD said in Ezekiel 21:27, “I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.”

HE also says in Jeremiah 33:10-11, “This is what the LORD says: You have said, ‘This is a desolate land where people and animals have all disappeared.’ Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns, there will be heard once more 11the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the LORD. They will sing,

‘Give thanks to the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, for the LORD is good. His faithful love endures forever!’

For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the LORD.”

These promises are received by faith (Forsaking All, I Trust HIM). We must believe that GOD is and rewards us if we diligently seek HIM (Hebrews 11:6).

Praise the LORD. Hallelujah.

Beloved, we need to have absolute trust in the LORD who reverses the irreversible, who turns ashes that men have discarded to beauty. HE turns our messes to blessings and glorious testimonies, overturns that ugly situation to wonder. No doubt, GOD is the GOD of restoration.

GOD made the bitter leaf and the sweet sugar cane, water in the hard coconut, water and seeds in the watermelon. GOD makes all things beautiful in HIS time.

So as this year 2020 wraps up, let the sound of rejoicing, the shouts of praises and hallelujah fill our hearts and abode. Whatever the situation, whatever the outcome of our balance sheet for this year 2020, it’s ending in praise because we are a people of faith.

Our Investor the Almighty GOD is not finished with us yet. Let us stay glued to HIM – JESUS our ALLY, the Author and Finisher of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Year 2020 has indeed been and still is an amazing year.

For those who are trusting GOD for their healing, the LORD specifically says in Jeremiah 33:6 : “Behold, I will bring it health and healing, I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”

Wow beloved, the steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, HIS mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning, great is the faithfulness of GOD. Let us celebrate the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords, the Shekinah Glory from now into year 2021 and beyond.

All Glory be to GOD.
