Beloved, we give GOD all the Glory that we are alive, fine, and well, what a great privilege. It’s so good that you are here on this page. All Glory be to GOD Almighty. Welcome. If this is your first time on this page, you are welcome dearly beloved.

Have you found yourself in a messy, unpleasant situation? It can be used to produce a desirable, uplifting, positive and encouraging life.

There was a Canaanite woman who lived in Jericho. Her name was Rahab, and she was a prostitute. Her residence served as a lodging to strangers. By virtue of her association with different persons in the society and the fact that her house was situated at Jericho’s wall, she was well informed of the goings-on in the society. Nevertheless, some distanced themselves from her during the day because of her social status – a prostitute.

One day, a man named Joshua, the leader of Israel (Israelites were GOD’s chosen people) sent two men to Jericho to spy the land and the two men came to Rahab’s house to lodge there.

Rahab, though a prostitute, was sensitive enough to know that the two men from Israel were on a Mission. She also knew that they serve a Living GOD, as she, along with her country folks, had heard how the Almighty GOD did mighty works in the land of Egypt and rescued them out of captivity. The Israelites had been slaves in Egypt and GOD brought them out miraculously. Pharaoh the king of Egypt had chased after them when they left Egypt. They tried to flee from him, but they were stuck between Pharaoh and the Red Sea. It so happened that Almighty GOD parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross over. The Egyptians continued their pursuit, thinking they too would cross over with the Israelites through the parted Red Sea, but after they entered into the parted sea, the sea closed up and they were all drowned and sank as lead in the sea.

She was also aware of how they had conquered neighbouring countries with ease, for GOD was with them. So, she knew that this was a once in a lifetime encounter with these two men and was determined that she would not lose the opportunity to key into the favour and blessings of GOD that were inherent in Israel through the two men that had come into her abode. The king of Jericho was informed that two Israelites had come to Rahab’s residence to spy the land. The king summoned her and ordered her to bring the men. She knew she could not do that or else she would be doomed. So, Rahab hid the men. She gave protection to GOD’s heritage. She told the king they had left in the night when the gate of the city was being shut. She advised that they pursue the men as they were likely to be overtaken. She had actually taken the two men to her roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax. So, the king’s men left to search for the two men and right after they left, the city gate was shut.

Rahab went to the men and told them that the people of Jericho were all afraid as they had heard all that the Almighty GOD did for them in neighbouring countries and how they had utterly defeated their enemies and conquered their lands. She knew they were coming to Jericho to take over the land. She acknowledged GOD as the Almighty GOD and asked that they promise her that as she had shown them mercy, they would also show her family mercy when they come to destroy the land. The two spies assured her of her and her family’s safety. She let them out by a scarlet rope down the city wall (since her house was on the city wall). The two men told her to tie the scarlet rope on the window where she had let them down. Everyone that would be in her house when they come would be saved (Joshua 2:9-13).

So, that was how Rahab maximized the opportunity and saved herself and her family. By her association with the Israelites, she became a true worshipper of the Living GOD and she was a great, great grandmother of king David. Rahab, by being a believer in the Almighty GOD and by securing the lives of the two spies, she secured both her and her family’s lives and destiny. She was no longer a prostitute; she was transformed to a woman of great honour and high esteem. She was part of the lineage of JESUS Christ who is our Saviour.

Rahab’s action gives us assurance that when we align ourselves with our LORD JESUS Christ, our lives would be transformed, and we shall fulfil purpose and destiny. Furthermore, we have assurance of Eternal Life. What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? (Mark 8:36)

Her story also assures us that we can come the way we are – a prostitute, a thief, whatever, we don’t have to have it altogether. If Rahab did not take the most important decision of her life to align with the Almighty GOD, she and her family members would have perished when Jericho was destroyed, and we would not even know there was anyone called Rahab.

JESUS says, ‘Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.

Beloved, the way to exchange one’s mess into a messenger of good news is to come to JESUS who is the Life Giver and Life Changer. Please make that decision now.

            1.         Acknowledge that you are a sinner

            2.         Ask for forgiveness of your sins

            3.         Accept JESUS as your LORD and Saviour

            4.         Fellowship with your new LORD

            5.         Please attend a Bible believing Church. If there is a lock down in your area, please join a Bible believing Church online. The Almighty GOD guide and guard you in your journey of life. Surely your life can never be the same. Congratulations.
